Thank God it's friday

Documentary | 15 min | 2018

In TGIF, we follow a group of five friends with intellectual disabilities in Athens, Greece. Under the guidance of their mentor/carer/friend, Kelly, they get together every Friday for theatre class. After their class, they go on walks, out to dinner, to the movies, to each other’s birthday parties. Every year they go on a week-long vacation, to work on their long-term goal of someday living together, semi-autonomously.

This short observational documentary was created as my final year project for Edinburgh Napier University. The film premiered at 'The Filmhouse' movie theatre in Edinburgh.
